1. Describe the job in writing, with photos
To give an accurate price, the tradesperson needs a clear description of the problem: when did it start, where is it, what brand and model is involved? A few photos say more than minutes of explanation on the phone. On talep.ai you can add up to 6 photos to a request; location and device data in the photos are removed during upload.
2. Check their documents
You can check a Vocational Qualification Certificate using the certificate lookup service of the Vocational Qualifications Authority (MYK), and barcoded e-Devlet documents using the barcoded document verification service on e-Devlet. 3. Ask for a written, itemized quote
Instead of "it'll be roughly this much", ask for a written quote that lists labour, materials and other items separately. That way you can genuinely compare different quotes. The brand and quality of materials is the item that changes the price the most; asking for options such as Economy, Standard and Premium makes that difference visible.
4. Is VAT included or excluded?

5. A site visit first, if needed

6. Read the reviews, don't just look at the rating
What the reviews actually say matters as much as the average rating: what do people say about punctuality, tidiness, price and communication? 7. Keep a record of communication and the finished job
